Unlike some catteries that operate like kitten mills and are only interested in cranking out as many kittens as possible for profit, our kitten availability is limited.
And our female cats have maximum one litter a year, for their optimum health and well-being. We do not keep a traditional “waiting” list in which a monetary deposit is required before a litter is even born, as we feel this is unethical. Instead, Shades of Sapphire maintains a mailing list that sends out a birth announcement for each new litter to pre-approved individuals.

When my kittens reach 8 weeks of age and we are able to determine their color, pattern, and gender, we then accept a $200 deposit for preferred kittens, reserving her/him just for you! Once the kittens have healed well from their spay/neuters, they will be available to go home (at around 15 weeks of age). A time and date will be scheduled for you to pick up your kitten at our cattery, or if you prefer, delivered to you.
